Developing the site's information architecture is a complex process. It involves both logic and human experience. To make the site user-friendly and to take full advantage of the natural linking potential, we need to look at the possibilities very methodically and then we need to test them with our imaginations and with people.

The first levels of development are methodical and as we get deeper into the process, the human element begins to push its way into the planning, taking advantage of what the web is good at, and causing deeper and more complex linking.

There are several reviews of the information architecture and the various ways of navigating a site to ensure all input is taken into account and that we have missed nothing critical. Client participation in this creative phase is critical.
